Can anyone help, please my sons girlfriend had a glucose tolerance test yesterday at local hospital. They rang her today to say that she had GD and they would be monitoring her more. As my husband and I are both diabetics, we have been checking her blood sugar ourselves over the last few weeks of her pregnancy. I did a test on her today and she was just 5.0.
How the test worked was they did blood test, then gave her 75mg of glucose and then she had to wait 2 hours for another blood test, but what the hospital did not tell her was that she shouldn't drink anything but water 12 hours before, they only told her not to eat. Is this right and do you think she actually has GD. She is panicking now and doesn;t know what to do.
