Hi, my name's vonbon1, not really new joined a couple of years ago, but after a few weeks couldn't get back in to the site. Finally back Yay. so when I joined back in 2013 was just diagnosed type 2. started on a low carb low fat diet. I lost 54lbs in the first 6 months. was soooo proud of myself. then we hit financial problems, money was so tight, just as everyone's has been for some time with the recession. however, we had no money for 6 weeks, sold a lot of my carboot stuff to get money for food, could barely manage to feed us on the tightest budget so my diet went out the window. my wieght flew back on & then some. so now I just hit 20 stones. nightmare. I have other health issues,Idiopathic intercranial hypertension, (water on the brain) some baaaaad some just a nuisance, some are effects of the diabetes. So here I am hoping to get some inspiration once again and hopefully help in some small way if I can.
My dr put me on metformin a few months back but due to IIH (memory loss) I couldn't take them right, in fact in all I took 3 tablets over a 5 month period. so I was recently put on Glucophage. 1 tablet a day, which I still haven't got my head around taking yet. While you may think I must be insane or totally stupid, I am niether. IIh causes severe memory loss, bad enough to forget my own name, where I live. what I'm doing I have list of things to do all over the house. note books in every handbag, I even have a dictaphone. but you can guarentee I forget what I'm needing or doing. just yesterday I had to go see the nurse, while I sat in the waiting room, I suddenly remembered I had an appointment for blood tests the next day, I went to the reception to ask what time my appointment was for, the receptionist told me it was for 9.30 am that very day, I had missed it. I don't do needles, not without a few days notice anyway. but there I was stuck had to have the bloods taken. my life seems to be one long round of reminders, forgetting and pain, there's lots of pain, Diabetes has given me so much more troubles, I have 5 different rashes all over the place, I have tried every lotion, potion and tablet the dr has given me, tried a myriad of things bought on line. nothing helps. I have to take a low grade antibiotic 4 times a day to keep the boils from taking over. As you can tell I'm having a right good time just now. lol but Here's where I need to be I need help big time. so I'm asking for your help.
