    Alternative to Metformin

    I too had problems with Metformin and the Doctor changed my medication to Prandin also known as Repaglinide. Since then I have improved control and no known side effects. I wish you good luck for the future as Im sure you will find something that suits you personally.

    I have one every year but apparently mine is different from the usual type possibly because of my age (82) and the fact that I have CKD 3 and have had BCG for bladder cancer recently. The good news is (tempting fate?) I have never had the flu.

    7.4 today......most mornings between 6.5 and 7.5.....Diabetic Nurse reasonably happy as am I.......80 yr old and 94kgs ..down from 105 ....still trying for less but not easy as there is nothing wrong with my appetite......living in Spain by the way.

    I use Codefree Meter and strips......I always get the 5 Pack with discount as I have to test 3 times a day. I often wonder why if they can do the strips for the price that they do why cant the other manufacturers do the same as they all presumably have the same purpose.....Curious....

    Hi Guzzler, The treatment is 3 separate days with a cream called PICATO followed by a cream called FUCIDINE twice a day for the next 10 to 15 days until the lesions scab over and gradually drop off . Messy and painful but it seems to work. Hope you never have to use it yourself. Kind regards
