Freestyle Libre reading ~2mmol/L lower then fingerpick constantly...

I only use the freestyle sensor, no apps or anything ( I have an old phone with an old OS lol) This has been multiple sensors in a row, probably the last 3 or 4. Maybe its a bad batch I am not sure.. Just curious is if anyone else has seen this. Has anyone tried using these in different...

Freestyle Libre reading ~2mmol/L lower then fingerpick constantly...

Hey all! Just curious if anyone else has been experiencing this - for the last few months I have been noticing that my Libre readings have been constantly (approx) 1.5-2.0mmol/l lower then my finger prick. Even accounting for the delay in interstitual fluid its always low. I will check at...

why does not many physicians and American Diabetes Association endorse ketogenic diet for type 1 ?

I kind of agree with above - Keto is still a relatively 'new' style of diet and its note fully understood and agreed upon. Plus its easier for doctors to just prescribe you medication, it keeps the gears oiled. If you want to do keto, you should give it a shot. If you're numbers all work out...

    Getting left behind...

hahaha no..I am very much always reacting. Always acting on what it is giving it. There are some nights, when you just eat something before bed and your sugars spike. So you get an alarm 1 hour after eating even though you have bolused already. Then you get another one 2 hours after eating...

    Getting left behind...

I can imagine what this feels like - I see it too. Everyone is standing in the jungle or at cozy ski lodge taking pics of their dexcom trend lines... I can honestly tell you - as someone who has both the dexcom, and Libre system - I get sick of having them. I love them both, but after a...

Do you people get all your diabetes stuff for nothing?

I have not read any of the previous 6 pages - I am just answered the original post. I wouldn't say "I get it all for nothing/free" I can say "It is all covered through my insurance - that I pay monthly for" I pay less for my insurance then they pay for my diabetes stuff - so i do come out of...

Recently diagnosed type 1 and rapidly gaining weight

There is nothing that diabetics have to do differently then non-diabetics to lose weight - eat well, eat less, count calories and exercise more. Its just like everyone else :) Most people will gradually (or suddenly) loose weight leading up to diagnosis. Lots of time (myself included) they find...

    feeling a little sad ☹

This is very sad to hear! *hugs!* Occasionally I think of stuff like this too, especially when I wake up at 3am to find my sugars are at 2.5 and I need to binge eat lol My only words of encouragement are this - you CAN do it. You may think its hard and confusing, but it is certainly something...

Hair loss and low in iron

I noticed hair loss about 3 months after I was diagnosed, as well as low iron. When I saw my doctor he checked my thyroid and concluded the hair loss was due to spending a long time with high sugars prior to diagnosis which put the body under a lot of stress which causes more hair to fall out...

    Looking for Diabetic Bikers!

This is awesome.. Do more of this kind of thing! I got my motorcycle license just about a year before I was diagnosed. I used to ride almost every day, but after being diagnosed I felt I had to give up on riding (lots of people say "No way, you didn't have too!") In all honesty I didn't feel...

    Hair Loss Newbie

I had some hair loss as well. It started about 2-ish month after diagnosis. I saw a doctor who did all the standared tests to ensure it wasn't a specific cause and ended with the conclusion that the stress during diagnosis/DKA caused more then the normal amount of my hair to enter the 'resting...

    Peripheral vascular disease

This may be totally off topic but is the hair loss on your legs the entire leg, or in patches / specific places? I ask because 12km per day is a lot of walking, and I know when I get really active my legs develop bald patches from where my pants / socks/ underwear/ etc rub on my legs. The...

    Fiasp experiences

My doctor had told me to use Fiasp exactly like i had been using Novorapid - she said not to touch a thing. I used a new cartridge and infusion set on day one, and changed it out on day 4 (3 days of use). On Day 4 i used a new cartridge and infusion again (no recycling of cartridges)...

    Fiasp experiences

Fiasp fail. Everything was working well the first 3/4 days, day 5 and 6 six were nightmares. Everything I would eat would send me so high as if I hadn't even taken insulin. Correction doses would work, but not nearly as well as I would have expected. It got to the point where i woke up this...

    Fiasp experiences

Just loaded my Vibe with a Fiasp sample bottle i got from my doctor last month. Its been 1 day, and so far its not worse then Novorapid. Post meal spikes are a bit lower, corrections seem to happen a bit faster. So ill give it a couple days and cycle off and maybe run a couple minor tests.

    fiasp....

I just picked up a sample bottle for Fiasp from my doctor, and loaded it into my pump last night. So far no negative issues, only positives. As mentioned above its the same cost, and it cuts pre-bolusing down quite a lot. You no longer have to wait 20 minutes before meals (which is usually no...

    No more insulin?

As much as I want you to also have the miracle gene i think its much more likely to be a case of decreased insulin resistance, and increased metabolic rate. Whenever you train hard, like you are, your body gets constantly working. Doctors estimate that physical excercise can affect BS for up...
