    High Levels

I'm 17. What is considered a high blood sugar honestly. My doctor says 7 is high, I have a few other doctors and they said 9 is high. I'm so confused!!!!

    Jealousy

You're right, but it's just that he can eat anything he wants. He still eats fried food and deep fried things but his diabetes is more controlled than mine. [emoji53]

    Jealousy

My brother and I are young type 2 diabetics. Is it wrong to feel envious cause my brother is a big person but he eats 6 slices of wholemeal sandwiches and his BSL is always below 5! I eat one sandwich and mine goes to 8 : (

    Off Metformin(!)

Hello there! I stuck with a low carb diet for a few months, avoided bread and rice for most of the time and stuck with foods like vegetables (no potatoes). I didn't eat meat a whole lot (like now) but I ate salads with lots of fish and boiled eggs (no egg yolk) and I started to walk 30 minutes...

    Off Metformin(!)

Thank you so much, friends. I'm so happy and we shall all conquer this together! ♡ Have a good night/day. All your support means so much to me and one of the biggest things I had when I was trying to lower my HbA1C was a big support system. Cyber hugs [emoji254]

    Off Metformin(!)

Today I went to the diabetes doctors and he told me to stop taking the metformin for good. My diabetes is now in good condition and stabled. Cholesterol's a little out of range but that can be sorted out with some vegetables and walking [emoji24]. Went out and celebrated with my family this...

Can your HbA1c keep going down?

Congratulations on your success, I don't know the answer but maybe you can incorporate some carbs back into your system. :) healthy carbs of course! Good luck. Anna.

    Reversed T2D

I guess it's just from the perception of the person. A treat meaning something you enjoy but something that could ultimately affect you. This is interesting, indeed and I agree with you. And yes, I probably will try and eat half a portion and test my BG afterwards. I don't crave carbs often...

    Reversed T2D

Thank you, John. I will keep that in mind. Maybe I'll just limit myself and split up the portions if I ever feel like indulging into something. Guilt kind of puts me off the urges! Which is good in a sense hehe

    Reversed T2D

Yes! I love living like this, really. It makes me feel better about my choices and what I put into my body. I guess it's just overwhelming sometimes when I do get to go out and eat with friends and families on occasions but I try not to let it bother me too much. And I'm grateful I'm a girl who...

Sounds amazing! I just love bread in general and things like wraps and other flour based carbs! So glad they make wholemeal versions of these things. I really love Vietnamese bread rolls and that's what I've been craving since I've been diagnosed! And no, I live in Australia so we don't have Lidl!

    Reversed T2D

Of course! I plan to have this one bread roll sandwich that I love so much at my local bakery and that's all I'll ever have it again for like a year! That's if my BG won't spike too much of course

I see, and thank you for sharing your view! I hope that things work out for you. Some fruit to satisfy that sweet craving isn't bad either! Berries are low in sugar as well, so I wouldn't worry a whole lot.. Especially if you use dark chocolate to coat them. Less effect on the BG of you do so...

That's so interesting and who can resist some chocolate and coffee, right? I guess those guilty feelings push people back onto track after small indulgences but it feels incredibly uncomfortable since overthinking sucks. So guilt is a good and bad thing I guess!

You're absolutely right! No reason to deprive your body; it's just you need a strong mindset to get back on the tracks right away after one small indulgence. I guess that builds up over time [emoji39]

Me neither! I say I would but I never end up doing it. I just really look at it and look at those carb heavy meals with envy when my friends order it! And good job. Last Christmas I had no time off either. And none ever since then. Keep going! Your motivation motivates me :-)

Hello Robbity. I wish I had your mindset and endurance but it's just that response of the brain that craves the bad carbs! I don't find myself running towards them still; but I think about it a lot with a lot of jealousy that goes along with it! And yes, I'll try to find some low carb...
