    Leukocytes in Urine

Thank you. Yes, I'm expecting to be prescribed antibiotics if it confirms it. I know my diet can do with some work as I've been complacent for too long but I definitely think covid has increased my BG levels. I've not heard about a C Peptide test so off to Google that one . . .

    Leukocytes in Urine

I'm hoping I've posted in the correct place but apologies if I haven't. Ok, so brief background . . I've had covid twice - in November 2022 and again in June 2023. My Hba1c has steadily been increasing and my most recent Hba1c was 80. Advised to increase my prolonged release Metformin to 4x...

    Chronic fatigue syndrome

It's tough isn't it? I also have CFS and fibromyalgia as well as other health issues. With the myriad of symptoms and pain that fibromyalgia brings I struggle to go to work some days and I admit I don't exercise other than some walking. I can't walk much these days due to pain though.

Info on Alogliptin please (newly prescribed)

Thank you. I've managed to check my online medication records and I've been prescribed 25mg of Alogliptin (once a day) to take with 2x 500mg doses of Sukkarto. I'm hoping I don't get any adverse side effects

Info on Alogliptin please (newly prescribed)

I've not been on the forum for a long time but unfortunately my Hba1c has crept up. It's now 66 after a recent blood test. I currently take Sukkarto twice a day (2× 500mg) but can't tolerate further doses very well as they tend to upset my stomach. The DSN has discussed options for...

    Alternatives to SR Metformin

After staying off any (diabetes) meds for around 5 years since my initial diagnosis I started taking Sukkarto around mid September. I'm currently taking 1x 1000mg in the morning and 1x 1000mg early evening. Despite being slow release I am having stomach issues and incredibly embarrassed to say...

    Extreme fatigue and tiredness

After 5 years of being diet controlled I've recently started taking Sukkarto Slow Release. I felt "ok" to start with, just taking 1x 500mg pill in the morning. Week 2 I then increased to 2 pills (one morning and one at tea time). But this week and increasing to 2x 500mg in the morning and one...

    I don't want medication!

Ok, so just an upsate. I went for my blood test today but after several attempts and by 2 nurses/HCA's they couldn't draw blood and struggled to get a vein. The person I usually see and who always does it first time and stress free is off sick. I was severely needle phobic and would often...

    I don't want medication!

I also have fibromyalgia & CFS but was diagnosed with T2 prior to this. Along with other health issues I often don't have the energy/am in pain or don't have the inclination to be a gym bunny. I do admire those that are committed though and I have got to the gym in the past (way before T2...

    I don't want medication!

I know I need to get more exercise than what I currently get. I would usually walk to & from work but with COVID I've been at home since lockdown and now working from home. My usual walk to work takes around 25 mins. Unfortunately I also have fibromyalgia & CFS and the weather also aggravates...

    I don't want medication!

Hi, I know I'll definitely need to look at my diet as it's not good if I'm honest. I'm not into weights or cardio and think that due to other conditions it could do more harm than good. I probably need to move more and walk as I've been home since lockdown and am fortunate enough I can...

    I don't want medication!

Hi, I don't know how many carbs were in the wraps or the pasta as I don't carb count and don't usually test or monitor my blood sugar levels. I did test prior to actually eating the pasta. I'll obviously be doing some more tests tomorrow which may give me a better idea as to what my body is...

    I don't want medication!

Hi, I've been absent from this website for some time and am currently not on any medication for my diabetes (I'm a T2). However, after feeling really unwell for the last 3 days with various symptoms including blood sugar of 14.4 and high pulse (over 100) my surgery are now suggesting I go onto...

At what HbA1c level will medication be suggested?

Thanks to everyone who replied. Firstly, I don't require meds based on my HbA1c result. She said they'd only consider and suggest meds at a level of 52. I was advised to try and reduce my cholesterol levels, in particular the HDL (the "bad" cholesterol) and statins were mentioned if I'm...

At what HbA1c level will medication be suggested?

I was diagnosed as type 2 in 2015 and have been unmedicated for my diabetes so far. I have several other health issues which I take both prescription meds and complimentary/supplements for. Anyway, I've just had my annual review and blood test and will be seeing the DSN on Tuesday (today). I...

Fibromyalgia . . Could it be this?

I realise I've been absent on this site for a while and thought I'd update this as to where I am at the moment. My neurology appointment has come through but isn't until August!!! I've had various blood tests to check a variety of things including anaemia, low iron levels, thyroid function...

    Why am I so cold?

My blood test was at approx 8.20am and I don't have Reynaulds. I can't see anything that mentions cortisol but there is a result for Serum C reactive protein level (XaINL) = 1mg/L (<5.0). My legs are stinging with pain so I'm going to take my gabapentin and 20mg amitriptyline in a bit and...

    Why am I so cold?

Seen the Dr who didn't seem that concerned about how bad I am feeling. However, she has signed me as unfit for work for 2 weeks with "Nerve Pain" as she had to "put something" on the medical certificate and thinks it's nerve related. Told to double and even triple up on my amitriptyline and...

    Why am I so cold?

This is really useful. Thank you :) The gabapentin helps a bit but I often have to increase it to 900mg for it to give relief. And by the time it kicks in it's wearing off :banghead:. A warm bath does help a bit but it's only temporary.
