Are you a type 1 SueJB? That is an incredible hba1c and the fact that you rarely bolus. If you're T1, you must barely eat anything?!

    Tough day after Lantus overdose

Sometines it's hard to understand of you feeling horrible is down to diabetes or its just something that everyone feels. Being a T1 for 20 years, I have days where I feel like I'm in a trance. My wife is not T1, but she also complains of days like this too. I am definitely guilty of blaming...

FreeStyle Libre sensors - who gets funding?

Got the go ahead today for libre on prescription. Been self funding for the last year and hba1c down from 7.5 to 5.9. I think that helped my case rather than hindered it. Still seems kinda pot luck..

T1 parent with a healthy son

No one can concentrate on something that long. Take a break. Relax your mind. It sounds like you have so much worry in there that I'm surprised you can concentrate on anything for a few minutes, never mind a few hours. 5 second job actually. That's literally how long it takes to me inject some...

    Life insurance

Yep, it was Unum. I've been told they are the only one that would not exclude anything diabetic related (unless it was preexisting). They only seem to work with brokers though, I didn't find a way of dealing with them direct (free broker helps enormously with the application in any case). Oh...

T1 parent with a healthy son

Because everything I have ever wanted to do, I have been able to do. I don't think back to any point in my life and hate any moment of it because I have diabetes. Life is far too short to waste it like that.

    Life insurance

I just got life insurance and income protection cover. My broker basically said because its well controlled and no complications (non smoker, light drinker, good bmi, no family history etc) there would be a % rate applied to my premiums over a non-diabetic, but I'd probably be getting the best...

T1 parent with a healthy son

I was diagnosed 20 years ago when I was 12. Now 32 with a 2 year old and a 3 year old. I really don't want them to get it. At times, I think it will destroy my world. But then at other times, I take a step back and look at myself, reply look at myself. It hasn't held me back. I had a great...

Meh, I do it through my suit trousers at work. It's fine, don't worry about it. I wouldn't do it through things like jeans tho.

Any type 1s that don't often inject?

Remember our bodies don't produce any insulin. But we need insulin to break down our food and feed our cells the energy they need. So it's still important to take insulin regularly... But, also take expert advice on what I've just said [emoji14]
