    Glooko Uploader

I use Windows 11 and have not been able to use it since the ‘upgrade’ to Glooko from diasend in early 2021. The only thing they can ask is if I have another device to try it on. And they “can’t find” my account even when I’m logged into it. Unbelievable. Fix your product!!!!

severe reactive hypoglycemia, test results please help

I'm going out now but I'll try to dig out that issue of Practical Diabetes later, it's got a lot of info in it on this very subject. I take it you're not on insulin?

severe reactive hypoglycemia, test results please help

Crikey! What happens if you eat really slowly, does it help or hinder the situation, have you tried it? I don't suppose any diabetics are going to have any useful ideas because we get hypos for different reasons than you, and they're sorted out by eating, whereas with you it seems eating will...

Food that doesn't affect BS but it should

Oh Ausra please don't feel you upset me, because you didn't, you've made me laugh out loud and cry tears of real mirth, and thank you for the offer in the third person plural (which is normally a sign of either being the actual Queen or having borderline personality disorder, but, obviously in...

    Worried about my partner...Help!

Excellent advice and also remember a chest infection will have kept her sugars high, and once the pills started working, her sugars would have come down (along with having moved injection sites away from the lipos) so I would have thought the hypos were to be expected. I don't think there's...

    scared to have next injection

I know how you feel, had to take steroids for a week last year. Hideous. Have the injection, and when it comes to it, post on here for advice when you need it. You'll get the help you need, I promise. You'll really have to up your insulin, it's scary though to suddenly inject several times more...

    Energy Drinks

I'm type 1 and haven't got any problems at all with caffeine, I drink a lot of coffee. A friend of mine developed a totally carb-free one called ubershot. It's got something in it that is officially a carbohydrate in scientific terms but it does not convert itself into useable carbs in the...

i have bad control my hba1c was 14

Re: i have bad control my hp1ca was 14 You are not carb counting as it is known among type 1 diabetics. You might well be working out what carbs you're about to eat, but with no blood tests, you have, as you stated, no idea what insulin to give yourself, and in fact, without knowing what...

A cold's never done that to me, are you sure it's not flu or some other virus? Are you checking for ketones too?

    Really... no chocolate??? at all...?

One day you too will eat chocolate whenever you want to :) not long now. There's so much to get your head around to start off with that it's best just to get the basics sorted, but you will be able, one day, to work out how to eat whatever you want. I eat whatever I want, whenever I want, but...

i have bad control my hba1c was 14

Re: i have bad control my hp1ca was 14 Start here: bdec-e-learning.com You need to 1. test on waking, test before food, test before bed 2. write down each BM measurement, each injection amount (including background insulin) and each carb amount eaten - I'm sure someone can come along with a...

    Antibodies "just negative"?

Hello Mishigato, Well, I went back and requested I got retested, and this time I did have antibodies. Apparently they can show up sometimes and not at others, which is irritating! My c-peptide was also low. They did other tests to rule out other forms of diabetes (I can't remember what now...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Re: What are your H test results? HbA1c is also measured in mmols but if yours was 7.1 you'd be dead as it's far too low for survival :) the blood sugar tests on our meters are measured in mmol/l and the HbA1c in mmol/mol. If you mean your HbA1c was 7.1% then you're bang on target. Check out...

    I DONT UNDERSTAND THESE HYPOS!!!

When you start reducing your HbA1c you need to keep your eye out for becoming more sensitive to insulin - it's a fact of life. So you might find this is the cause - it happens to everyone. So you might now need to rethink your BI or your ratios. Good luck.

    Have you had viral gastroenteritis?

Hi all, thanks for the replies, yes I took dioralyte for several days near the start of it all, but I could only actually get to the chemist for it 5 days after it started because I was so unwell - and, I was so ill, that I totally forgot I have a doctor living downstairs from me, so I...
