Dehydration and raised BS levels

I tested my BS levels this evening pre eating and was somewhat perturbed to find it was 7.2 (normally between 5 and 6). I had roast turkey and salad for lunch and a snack of cheese and mayonnaise on returning home at 5pm so nothing that I would expect to have raised BS levels. Thinking about it, I had only had 1 cup of tea in the morning and a glass of water before coming home. Could this lack of fluid intake have raised my levels?

We all get the odd rogue reading. Next time retest. Don't forget that the meters can be out as much as 15%. So it's not surprising is it?

Once you have been recording for a while, you will see a pattern better.

Hope this helps.

Thank you. Testing 2hrs after was 6.1 so back to ok levels. Maybe rogue reading - didn't think to retest, just had a bit of a panic!
