Regular monitoring of foot health is key to prevent complications such as ulcerations. Have foot regularly checked by Specialist nurses or Podiatrists and. keep a close watch on the footwear. Early assessment of callosities or blisters and adaptive foot wear is the key to prevent its complications.

I have regular 3 monthly sessions with podologue (I live in France).

I‘ve noticed recently that a couple of my toenails are going black. I’ve not injured them at all.

Is this a common issue?

Hi, i’ve had both my big toenails go slightly black on the side towards the small toenails (is that description clear, not sure ;) not a native English speaker, i’m in France too). The podologue i see every 3 months says it’s because my small toe overlaps with the big toe and has advised me to buy toe separators (silicon one from a chemist).

Thank you for this response. My podologue says it's nothing to worry about and they will grow out. I bruise everywhere very easily.
I think I'll try the toe separators as I think mine overlap a bit too.

I'm in Tossa de Mar (Spain) for two months so it will be a challenge to go to the pharmacie!
