Again something for me to try :) We have a garden it is huge but it has trees of heaven all over it, the roots stop anything growing, they put out chemicals like black walnut trees do. When I first came here I planted so much veg and fruit trees, could not understand why it all died off! Then I did a search for info on the trees and found out, they are a menace, we have tried everything to get rid of them but nothing works! I had beds in boxes and the tree seeds get in and take over the box. I have tried all the known ways to kill the trees, the only one left is sulphuric acid but it is bad for nature, I can actually buy that here in the local hardware shop. The Spanish here think they are acacia trees lol so they let them grow everywhere! I rid the garden and more pop up, they grow so fast! I have planted kiwi, cherry, apple trees etc and lost them all. BUT I can try putting a pop outside my door for courgettes I suppose, give it a try.
