Hello pals. I'm a Type 1 (23 y/o), really well controlled (last Hba1c was 7%) and I'm having some issues with very high blood sugars. I went to the out-of-hours last night because I suspected I had a kidney infection - intermittent flank pain, extreme fatigue) - but the urine test didn't show any leukocytes or white blood cells. I've been prescribed co-amoxiclav in any case because the urine test showed ++++ glucose and + ketones. My levels are all over the place. They were 9 this morning, shot up to 17.1 despite a very small breakfast and ketone levels have been hovering around the 0.5 mark. I'm unsure about what to do - I've been diabetic for almost 9 years but I'm so seldom sick that I don't know what to do. I'm correcting (I use Novorapid and Levemir) and I'm unsure about who to contact! Best, Catherine.
