Greetings to everyone, Although a old timer of the diabetes world I have only just joined this forum. I got type 1 diabetes at the age of 17 and now managed to get to the age of 50. whilst trying hard to maintain stable blood sugars as you all know it is not easy. I had laser treatment on my eyes about 15 years ago which was a great success and I maintain good eye sight. Over the last 7 years I have suffered with kidney issues but due to the good care of my specialist in the UK and now Dubai I have managed to prolong the inevitable. Unfortunately things slowly got worse and last December started on dialysis, which is not really recommended. I have a donor for a transplant but am having major issues with my insurance company. Time will now tell and I am looking forward to my transplant and getting back to normal. Keep Well
