Re: Introduce Yourself:Hello All :) - Hi My Name is Ken , I am joining this forum as my daughter of 13 was diagnosed with T1 Diabetes December 7th 2011 I am 55 yrs old born and bred in England, living in Northumberland , Guyzance , near Alnwick. 3words before 7/12/11 would be happy adventurous and occasionally stupid. Post 7/12/11 , Disillusioned, scared and down right angry. My wife used to say I was an awful person to have an argument with as I just did not argue , but now I snap at the smallest issue , I’m not too happy about that but I cant help it . Pets yes we have a cat ( 20 yrs old ) 6 Ducks and many tropical fish. Bane of my life cleaning out the duck shed , poo poo and more poo , good for the finger nails I hear ( tried to inject a smiley but failed there too ). I like all sports as does my daughter she achieved a first Dan Black belt in Karate at the age of 10 , it as taken until last week for her to gain the confidence to go back to training , something to be happy about I suppose , As for Computers I cant see the attraction of Apple it is not easy to use and in my experience is a pain in the a**e . Music I like heavy rock , not that I get the chance to listen to it , too much little mix and Pink , just noise I hear my dad say . Which is exactly what he would say when I watched all the syfy programmes one after the other . I work as a Technical Project Manager for Fujitsu UK, I good company to work for especially when you are asking for days off to go to the hospital with the little un. My Quals , ONC,HNC & BSc Degree in electrical and electronic engineering , plus a few Industry quals and Member of BCS ( British Computer Society ) I have joined this forum for "Hope" really , I have offered my Pancras as a transplant but apparently it does not work . I saw a report on this forum when I was searching for T1 cures , where a Chinese Doc had cured mice totally and wondered if this was confirmed and if any euro companies were chasing a solution . My underlying thoughts are that this is a multi million dollar business for the suppliers , so they don’t really want a cure , or am I being too cynical? :D :D
