Hi....after symptoms of extreme tiredness, mood swings, constipation, weight gain, forgetfulness/addled brain!!....had various blood tests last THURSDAY and results came back the next day....so was asked to make an appointment to see my own Dr. He told me that my results had shown I was diabetic.....I was in complete shock so didn't really take much notice of the actual result ie the number of my blood sugar etc, also was told that my cholesterol was quite high & given tablets to start last night. I left the surgery being told to book an appointment with the diabetic nurse & to go on a diet!!!!!....no other information at all....which led me to this forum..that's where the confusion really started for me!......although I can't remember the exact number he said to me, I'm pretty sure it wasn't very high at all....and also the blood I gave wasn't a fasting test, I gave it at 2.10pm after having a 'normal' breakfast & lunch. So how can he be giving me a diagnosis of diabetes & high cholesterol from a non fasting test?...is this a 'safe' diagnosis?.....any thoughts would be gratefully received...thank you in advance
