A question for the gardeners
We have about 8 spaghetti squash ready and lots more still developing. On Wednesday we go to the UK for 2or 3 weeks. What do we do with the squash?
Is it better to cut those that are ready, if so will they store... hopefully for ages, they're fine a couple of times a week but not something to eat every day? Will the smaller ones still grow even though the days are getting shorter and colder (although we could still get a few hot days here)
Sadly we'll have to leave a tree full of figs for the birds!

The ones that are ready to be harvested should keep for three or four months if stored in a cool, dark, well ventilated place. The ones that are not ready should be alright for two or three weeks, you will have to take a chance with the weather. :(

Thankyou Catherine, I've picked them, there still seems to be a lot to come.
I'm not very enamoured at having to go to the UK, I had a last swim today and then we had to put the winter cover on. I hate doing that, being able to swim everyday in summer is the one big perk of living here.
