I 've reduced my glargine by 1 unit at night as I seemed to be going a little low overnight. However, in doing this my BG seems higher throughout the day. Has anyone else experienced this, and is that why some people split their long lasting insulin?

Yep - I used to wake up in the early hours with hypos so I split my Lantus to 50% in the evening and 50% in the morning which solved the problem.

I split mine because I used to see notable rises when I was getting to the end of 24 hours.

Thanks for the info guys. Logindetails, do you split it equally and have 12hrs between doses? I will check with my DAN that I'm ok to do this but just trying to gather as much info as possible before I speak to her.
