Thanks for those suggestions (robert & catherine). There are so many things that i have read over the last few weeks it's difficult to really say one way or the other, but this isn't going away. I am going to a 'walk-in' Podiarty Clinic next week to seek some more advice, so hopefully they will be able to pinpoint what it may be. As for my HbA1c yes it's high. It was 13.5% last August. Since then i've been really focused on trying to get it lower. My Diabetic Nurse and Specialst haven't really got anything to help except maybe an insulin pump they said. I did have a blood Glucose monitor fitted last year for 2 weeks but apparently it didn't work correctly and the hospital are awaiting 'new' working monitors before i can have another go (lack of funding apparently, i had to wait nearly 2 years for the 1st one). The main problem i have with trying to lower my Blood Sugar is that any slight ajdustment in Insulin usually ends up with me having an hypo. I've recently been told that i may be a 'Brittle' diabetic.? and that's the reason i'm not having much luck lowering the HbA1c. I've written my own excel spreadsheet with formula to work out an average HbA1c by the normal blood sugar testing (which i do on average 3-4 times a day at the moment) and that is currently showing 9.6% ,so hopefully that's on the right track. cheers Paul
