[QUOTE="Frankiesays, post: 618389, member: 106633"] on choosing the omnipod.......to be truthful it was the fact this pump was one unit...NO TUBING ...no bag to carry it around....or strap to your knickers Just a simple stick on and go!! She's 12 I want life as easy as possible for her. Please note we didnt change to a pump on a whim. Levels for my daughter have been suddenly horrendous....injecting has suddenly become an issue ( remember being a teenager !!) I wanted her safe and confident again with her numero uno..thats all. Re trialing the pod. and DSN ...I'm new here so unsure what DSN means !! Diabetes Specialist Nurse ??? firstly we were given a dummy pod to just stick on and see how it felt ( please note these are expensive and to be honest a bit of a waste ) Once we received funding we were given pods and monitor with saline plus a few hours of training ...this I highly recommend as it definitely gave us a bit of experience before the big change over...which again was more hours of training and lots of advice. To be honest the last few days have felt like when she was first diagnosed...a massive learning curve of how the new system will work and how it will affect her. its a big step....but I feel AND HOPE we may have just taken the next step up in her diabetes care..
