Hi folks I just wanted to give an update on my struggle. I was given sukkarto as my metformin drug for t2, hab1c 84, 3 months later 86
I researched this drug and found so many diabetics saying this drug upped their bg numbers. So I went to doctor to ask for my old drug Glucophage Sr.1000mg. As it was I saw a young doctor and after discussion she agreed to give me a script for Glucophage, it works out my repeat just metformin hydrochloride!
I asked the pharmacist why and she said sukkarto is the one drug they stock, he said if Glucophage is on script by name they will get it in!
So me blaming gp for change it was the pharmacist fault!
I am now back on Glucophage, so we will see in 3 months, but just comparing both drugs the sukkarto is a shiny plastic texture on outside while Glucophage has a chalky texture.
So folks if you are having problems with sukkarto, challenge the pharmacist,
