I am in the middle of my two week ‘trial’ whereby my diabetes nurse gave me a Libre to try out.
I love it!
Having been type 1 for 33 years it is something I have been wishing for a long time. I cried when she put it on for me, and when I got home and showed my husband.
My poor fingers are having a well earned rest for two weeks, and I’ve found the data created on it really useful.
I have always been very well controlled, but as you all know it is really hard, unrelenting work. I almost feel like I’m having a little holiday!!!
However, it is saying 8 days left and I’m already starting to feel down about it.
Is it worth asking my doctor to prescribe it? Even one per month would help! My diabetes nurse says there is no point even asking my GP.
But I really can’t afford to pay for it every single month.
My local chemist says he can sell it to me for £46.
