Every scan I've had I've worried about before hand but to date I'm 24 weeks and everything so far is normal. So, don't panic! You will be fine, and just keep doing what you're doing to try and bring it down. I recommend to start taking a pre conception multi vitamin now and high dose folic acid (ask your dr).
My HBA1C was 6.2% before getting pregnant but has dipped to 4.5% as I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum for the first 13 weeks and have basically been hypo for the whole duration- which in itself has been hard work! I think that no matter how tight or not your control is you will still panic no matter what as it is drilled in to us at every appointment. GOOD LUCK! :)
