anything that makes me feel sad and unhappy
After a 5 month stay in 2019 in hospital with serious pancrease problems i returned home having type 2 diabetes.Being given a miriad of tablets and other medication to take to "try" and control my diabetes.Having a brilliant caring surgeon, she saved my life on more than 1 occasion and told me the chances of type 2 would get promotion to the premier league of type 1 as the years progressed. this happened some 3 months ago.But having the support, guidence and help of a good diabetic specialist doctor and nurses they taken away the worries and anxieties. Now on insulin pen injections they are a god send and i dont walk around and rattle like pebbles in a tincan with those tablets, and see the world in a brighter light and feel confident in handeling this type 1 head on.

Way to go, and welcome to the forum!

I remember how much better I felt when I was started on insulin, and how happy I was to ditch the pills too. :)
Sounds like you have a wonderful team to help you getting the hang of this!

I think you might want to have a look at type 3C diabetes. Treatment is very closely the same as type 1, but it's caused by damage to the pancreas, while T1 is caused by an autoimmune reaction.

And a small bit of advice: Now you're on insulin, make sure to always cary some quick acting sugar (glocose tabs, jelly babies, sugary coke, whatever you like best) in case of a hypo, and keep some next to your bed as well, along with your glucose meter.
