My next door neighbour was diagnosed as a diabetic - and put on insulin. It was later decided that he had tuberculosis, then he had a couple of strokes (he was 45 at the time). He was taken off the insulin but had to go back on it. He died aged 50, through god knows what - his partner could never get a straight answer.
