First Scare: So last evening my 8 yr old accidently pricked her finger on a cocktail stick, apparently it hurt like crazy but I couldn't see a mark at all, to prove it she managed to produce some blood, so I said well lets test you as you have a bit of blood to spare, used my spare monitor (didn't want to upset my one with a good result - lol!) and shock horror came back 14.6...........The wife and I looked at each other for a second, thoughts of well that explains the moods etc etc. then hang on - go and wash your hands and we'll do another test......once I'd got her to trust the jabber (the wife had to take one for the team! and she's not going to win any Oscars or BAFTAs!) re-did the test and came back normal - phew!

Just reinforces the need to wash your hands before any test.

Second Scare: Just now, felt a bit low so did a test - 1.7, couple of glucotabs and someone wonderful had left a funsize toblerone on their desk (sorry it was mediciinal!), now back to normal, and then I was wondering why on earth I'd dropped that low.........using a manual air pump and blowing up an air bed after breakfast ready for a back garden camping session tonight perhaps isn't a good idea! (especailly when the bleeding bed has a leak - I was furiously pumping away for ages! oh errr.)

Holy cow, that's a low BG level! Glad you caught it in time.

Indeedy! I was feeling fine and acting normal (!?) just felt lowish.

It can come out of the blue sometimes. I was cooking dinner and I tested before I ate and it was 2.9 but I felt fine, I ate my dinner quickly though.

I've been getting ready for a run n tested only to get stopped because I'm at 1.6 or 1.8 it's annoying as the world going low n not knowing I'm low or going low.

@bobandpat - sorry been away for a week, just catching up.

No, but now I know what to do if my BS is high!
