Hi. I'm a type 2 who injects premixed humalog 75/25 insulin. Just wondering how fast does the rapid acting and long acting use up the sugars. Does long acting work with the rapid acting straightaway. Cheers Kevin..
 
The simple answer is "it depends".
It depends on the type of fast acting insulin and it depends on the person taking it.

However, if you do a Google search for "NovoRapid profile" you should see some graphs which show how fast and for how long NovoRapid, the most common last acting insulin, works.
