Hi Sarie,
welcome to the board - sorry about your diagnosis, I was diagnosed in January. I was just the same, they thought i might be type 1 but confirmed as type 2 a few days later. The funny thing is, i went to the doctors last year feeling really low and told the doctor the only time i felt well was when i had eaten something. He said, i had depression, gave me some prozac and suggested that i see a psycholigist as it was all in my mind. He never tested my blood sugars, and i now know this is how i feel when my blood sugars are high. After a couple of months of 3 metformin a day i feel fine but have to be carefull what i eat as well. I stupidly ate some fries in KFC on saturday and paid the price almost instantly with the headaches and 'depressed' feelings.
I have lost 3 stone in 3 months watching my carbs - have a look at the low carb section on the forum. I don't 'low carb' just try and not over do them.
I hope things work out for you - this forum is great. On reflection, my diagnosis has helped me be more healthy overall. Its lovely when people say how well you look and you can buy clothes that actually fit and look good.
Best wishes
carl
