373 sensor error

Hi Andy,

I'm no stranger to getting frequent 373 signal loss errors at least once or twice a day with my sensors (former Libre 2 user and now Libre 2 Plus user), though the numbers you've quoted for three days ago sound quite excessive.

Just to clarify: do you know if these sensors you've been using within the past five months are all from the same batch? I'm just wondering if you might have been given a bad batch of sensors.

373 errors? Sounds like your sensor’s trying to beat a high score, not monitor blood sugar. Abbott needs to patch whatever game it's playing.

’373’ is referencing the code for the sensor error that indicates signal loss between the LibreLink app and the sensor. It can be found in the Event Log menu each time an error is logged. Here’s a screenshot from my LibreLink app as an example:

The second had the issues and they both came from my local pharmacy. The 3rd 1 I have on now came from Freestyle to replace the 1 that fell off.

If you go into your LibreLink app, bring up the menu and then scroll down to and select the About option right at the bottom, you can view the serial numbers of the last three sensors you wore that the app recorded. If the first six letters and numbers match for each sensor, then you'll know they're from the same batch. From my experience, when I receive my sensors from my GP, I'm given four and they usually share the same first six letters or numbers in their serial number. Sometimes it's a mix of two different batches. If the first two sensors from your pharmacy came from the same batch, I think you may have just been unlucky and given a faulty batch. If the third one is different and came from Abbott themselves, however, I'm not sure.

For me, I've found I commonly get a 373 error whenever my blood sugar levels are moving way too quickly for the sensor to keep up with. Because the sensors get their data from the body's interstitial fluid and not our blood, the data supplied to the graphs is a predication of how our blood sugars are behaving during certain periods of time, and often the reason why there are variations between fingerprick readings and sensor readings. If our blood sugar levels are rising or falling rapidly, sometimes it's difficult for the sensors to accurately keep up, which can result in the 373 error. The sensors are also known to lag behind fingerprick readings by around 10-15 minutes. There have been times where my sensors have gotten the error and then jumped between readings between the ten minute waiting period by one of two mmol. So, maybe it's possible either of these things could be causing the frequent 373 errors on your end?

We came back from gran canneria a week ago 10 days all inclusive plus I could understand it if it was whilst we was there but nope that was ok it was only when we got back to the UK it went stupid.

I've never worn my sensors whilst travelling outside of the UK before, so I can't speak on that through my experiences. But regarding the errors: when they've cropped up, have you noticed if they've been happening at specific times? Like, say, after you've eaten, or if you've left your device in another room (sometimes signal loss can happen if the sensor gets too far away from your reader/phone), before bed potentially? Just wondering if there might be a pattern to suggest a potential cause.

Alternatively, when you removed these sensors, did you notice anything off with the needles? Like if they were bent or crooked? It's possible the frequent errors might have been caused by damage to the needle disrupting the sensor's data collection. Otherwise, my best guess is that the sensors you were given just haven't been working very well. That has been the case for some people (myself included).

Hi I've been a type 1 diabetic over 30 years, When the sensors became available on the nhs i thought it would be a game changer and at first with the Fsl1 sensors although not as often would offer the same error 373. It would pop up saying try again in 10 mins so kinda right @Africanaussie lol
accoring to abbot it says "Your sensor runs continuous quality checks, and this message may mean that glucose readings have been paused. Once the sensor passes these quality checks it will resume providing readings."

However when it plays this game at night when you are asleep on your own it will not reconnect on its own and with hypo unaware victims i mean people it becomes a lot more serious :-(

My question is does any one know if dexcom suffers the same errors ?
