Andy I dispute the fact that you are thick. I can't agree with that at all, you have offered sound advice to many on here which we all understood but just because you didn't follow the flow of touchett's post doesn't mean you are thick. Your posts are always sincere and meant to be helpful. It's like you say that some writing on here IS like a foreign language. I have difficulty following some posts written in the style of texts, that doesn't make me thick, it just means I am not up with that style of communication.

Touchett offered insights that are totally foreign to me, I really can't relate to any of the food that she spoke about but it's very real for her and surely that's what we are all about here. We offer support where we can but like mo says, if you don't like it, don't read it. Who was it who said 'I don't agree with your point of view but I will defend to the death your right to say it'? Or something like that....well I would dispute the 'to the death' bit but you what I mean Btw, my height of sophisticated food is cheese on nice thick white bread or fish and chips neither of which I can have now dammit!

thankyou popsy, i dont mean im thick in life really, i mean i left school at 13 for a good reason, me and education didnt get along so i missed out on lots of stuff that involves reading (everything here) practically speaking im a genius lol

I am with Popsy. You are far too witty and the advice you offer much too good to be as thick as you claim.

You had no problem understanding for instance that I am definitely on Touchett's side rather than against her!

The biggest irony of all is that I personally enjoy her style of writing.

Anyway I am now going to cut this short , unusually for me, as I feel rather uncomfortable discussing someone who is not at the moment part of this conversation.

If Touchett feels that I need to explain or even apologize to her about the advise I gave, I will gladly do so.

At the end of the day, she has as much right to express herself in the style that she chooses as you and I do.
