54yrs T1, survived despite best efforts of NHS and Novo ,

This Report brings all the issues together in one concise and explicit document in order to draw the attention of everyone with an interest in the welfare of people with diabetes. The aim is not to recount history but look forward to developing ways of protecting the best interests of people with diabetes who need and deserve treatment that is based on evidence of benefit while at the same time, being cost effective.
philip corfman, former director, center for population research, national institutes of health, and reviewing Medical officer, food and drug administration, usa
IDDT did not write the report.

As said, not a single properly conducted clinical trial has shown any evidence what so ever that insulin type vs any other type was cause for weight gain.
Conspiracies do unfortunately die hard when first out on the open Internet, no matter how blatant the hoax may be.

Sorry CarbsRok, but you are wrong.

The former director you mention above, wrote the foreword to the report.
However...
Jenny Hirst was the sole author and wrote the report back in October 2007.
She was at that time and still is Co-Chair of the IDDT organisation.
Her son Martin is the CEO of same organisation.
And IDDT was the sole publisher of this report.

Hi CarbsRok,

Thanks for your insightful link on iddt. I spoke to Jenny on the phone this morning at length about my treatment regime with Humalog and of the side effects I experience. They are exactly the same as one the above link! OMG! Anyhow Jenny told me the story of her daughter etc and I could see parallels. Many will know me as being a user of Afrezza, MannKind's new inhalable insulin which I am but I cannot get it presently due to cost and it is not available here. Animal insulin is though so it might be worth looking at in the interim!

Hi Brendan, very pleased the link was helpful and hopefully it will help you to gain better health.

Absol

My pancreas was screwed over by a single episode of acute extreme pancreatitis which is the reason why my pancreas has stopped producing insulin. For 34 years prior to this the pancreas worked fine, and my weight was lower, artificial insulin is the difference.
