640g phase out?

Hello


I’m due to start the Medtronic minimed 640g in the first week of October but I’ve heard that it’s being phased out and it’s being replaced with the 670g. Is this true?

I’m part of the Facebook diabetes community too and I seem to see a lot of UK ppl moving off of the 640 to the 670g.

Is there a reason this pump is being replaced?

Hello, I don't know about it being replaced but I know for certain that the 670G is the newer model to 640G.
 
I started on the 640G in February. I have not heard any news on it being phased out as yet. The 670G is the upgrade to the 640G and that is the only reason it will eventually be withdrawn BUT it is going to be a fair amount of time before the 640G is replaced totally
