Hello Jan, have you had your thyroid function tested, I ask because cold feet is often a symptom of an underactive thyroid. If it is a circulation problem can you exercise more so the circulation works a bit more to warm you up?

How mobile are you?

I appreciate that it's not always possible, but moving around, getting the circulation going, is better than a hot water bottle.

Having said that, my feet turn to ice at the drop of a hat - so I wear sheepskin lined boots (Emus or Uggs) nearly every day from Sept to April. Never have cold feet nowadays.
But they MUST be genuine sheepskin. The cheaper synthetic versions just don't insulate as well.

This is nearly on topic and may/may not help anyone with foot considerations.

DN wants me to walk every day. She wants walking boots to be leather for health reasons. I like warm feet. I like comfortable footware. I would like some type of footware I can wear around the house .......and a whole list of requirements for the universal shoe/boot.

I bought some builders boots. They are leather, lined with some kind of fur, calf length and slip on. They have steel toe caps and penetration resistant soles. I bought them a little large and wear two pairs of walking socks under them and when I finish my walk I hose the mud off them with a hose without taking them off and go indoors where I keep them on all day.

I never knew our builders were so well catered for. Mine are called Gravity by Scruffs. I have no connection with anyone making them or selling them and other boots are available.

Can't you switch between boots and uggs squire?

Possibly but I don't feel the need.

I just looked up Uggs and compared to the £30+ price tag for the builders boots they don't compare. On the universal boot idea, The Ugg doesn't look like it would last long in the woods.

No they wouldn't but I was referring to switching at the back door as in outdoor / indoor change of footware rather than the hose off You're fine

I found a product called foot warmers They do say not to be used by diabetics without checking with your GP ,but I have no numbness and have good feeling in my feet so I tried them .They stick onto the bottom of your socks just in the toe area they are very thin so you hardly feel them .They didn't get very hot but just kept my feet cosy ,they last for about 8 hours I already use the hand warmers which are great I got mine on the net through Amazon

Hi, am big fan of fitflop boots. think do indoor stuff too.. Their slogan is caffeine for your feet, and they do kind of bounce you along. Mine are leather,but they do some that look like suede with some kind of furry lining which look very foot warming. Can be pricey so I shop sale time!!! Website is fitflop.co.uk I think, good to see range, but I also shop around. Keep warm, temp is dropping I reckon this w/e.
