Hello, I have been on the 670G previosly and now the 770G. You will have to let the pump run in manual mode for at least 6 days in order for it to learn your personal algorithm. Then you can transfer to Auto mode. Calibration with BS is normally every 12 hours, although there are exceptions.
Unfortunately, the BS does drop off after about 5-10 mins from the auto entry. Provided that your CGM is consistent with your BS, then I enter my CGM reading. As long as you feel fine, (NO hypo or Hyper) this should be fine. I know the recognized practice is to BS before each meal bolus but for me, this works fine.
Also of note is that if a BS is above or below the CGM reading by more than 35%, then do not calibrate. Wait at least two hours to calibrate. If the BS difference is more or less than 35%, the calibration will not be accepted. You will be told to recalibrate in 15 min. If it still greater or less than 35% you will be forced to change your sensor. Better to enter BS via event marker and wait at least 2 hrs to calibrate. You can enter your BS normally but do not calibrate when asked. You can still use the Bolus to treat BS.
Hope this helps.
Peter
