Hi All

I was admitted to A&E last Wednesday night and was diagnosed as having Type 2 Diabetes. I was discharged the next day (Thursday), along with a prescription for Metformin 500mg.

I then went to the GP (Friday evening) for a follow-up consultation and she prescribed:
Simvastatin 40mg
Ramipril 1.25mg (I think)

Since Thursday, I have constantly felt dizzy and giddy.

I have no pain anywhere...

Any comments?

Cheers

Cliff

Hi Cliff

I am on Ramipril, and they did make me dizzy at times so it could be this, if your blood pressure has been running on high for a while, the Ramilpril will bring it down, which could bring on the dizzy spells. I cant be certain obviously, but its similar to what happened to me, especially if I was sat down and suddenly got up.

Vertigo can also be a side effect of Simvistatin. This drug seems to disagree with more patients than it agrees with.

Hi

Thanks for your replies so far...

I've just spoken with another doctor who has said I shouldn't be feeling dizzy/giddy and has advised that I stop taking the Simvastatin for a week and see what happens...

So I shall wait...

Thanks again.

Cliff
