Welcome .. Let's ask @daisy1 to help with lots of useful information ..Hi everone, another newbie here.I have been diagnosed with type 2 last year. Doctor put me on metformin and Endocrinologist took me back off it 2 months later. At a recent blood test was told evrything ok although I feel like rubbish as I am hypothyroid too and Endo has halved that medication. I am now 5 stones overweight and getting pretty desperate. Three weeks ago after a urine sample the nurse rang me and said my diabetes was doing terrible damage to my kidneys as it's out of control. I am not due back to Endo until March, has anyone any ideas what may help until then please.I am trying to do low carb but not too sure what I am doing so any suggestions much appreciated.
You might need urgent advise re diet once the kidney problem is discussed further .. With hospital or health practice support .. I got mine from Amazon jaspajax. Although some chemists do them, butThank you so much for that advice on blood glucose, all I got given was a book from the doc's and told read that it answers all your questions. Where can I buy a meter and strips from please as I have very little faith in my current practioners who are always changing from one locum to another as they cant seem to secure a permanent GP. once again many thanks.
Not stupid at all jas. mmoll is the measurement usually used in the UK and which most people here recognise.thanks for the link, at the risk of sounding really stupid can someone tell me what is mmoll or mgdl/ so I know which one to order.
