People obsessed with themselves and anyone who looks down at me. Take me as I am or go annoy someone else.
My birthday yesterday so out for a lunchtime meal with family. In the past a good excuse for loads of treats and eating to excess all day.

Had a chicken starter without the sweet sauce (never do starters normally), then steak with veg and a little bit of potato, and get this - passed on the sweet trolley (the pain....)!

Just drank one diet coke throughout (OK, I was the driver) and later there was no cake, chocolate, or alcohol and just a black coffee in the evening. Woke up this morning with a clear head after a good nights sleep, and not sure if yesterday was a good day from a Diabetic point of view, or a lousy day from a birthday point of view. Still, when I decided to 'draw a line' and start again after my diagnosis I knew there would have to be days like that - roll on Christmas, reckon I will be strong enough for it by that time.

Now, lets have a good look at all those presents again.....

Well done for managing that. It is hard sometimes but I just try to focus on the good things in my future because I haven't eaten the cake / stuffed myself full of sweet things.

A happy belated birthday!!
