A small victory

I would agree it is always worth querying. / challenging the doctor or Dsn as they tried to change both our bg meters presumably because the preferred meters strips are cheaper. When my wife and myself challenged this and gave reasons for staying with our preferred equipment. the surgery agreed with out reasons and said they would continue to give us the strips we require. Because of this I feel that they are doing their best to give us support and therefore we are putting in more effort than maybe we might otherwise in the self help dept.
 

Yes, but ...., the wherewithal can come and go. It's not a static state, I hope. Sometimes we have the time or space or interest to look after ourselves better than at other times when Other Things really get in the way. I speak from experience, unfortunately. But the good thing is that any of us can turn ourselves around, at the time of our own choosing.

Thank you for asking Scandichic, nothing could be done yesterday because of the swelling, had 2 lots of x rays and consultant didn't appear to be concerned so I must be going in the right direction I have a new black foam and Velcro sling to elevate the arm and to take painkillers every 4 hours. Third appointment next Tuesday morning. I am hoping by the weekend there will be some improvement, so fingers crossed, ribs and left side of back hurts a tad best wishes RRB

Hi Nigel, no the swelling doesn't look as though it has changed much, but hopefully it will over the next couple of days and my BS has been a lot higher and I am increasing Novorapid a lot, an extra 3 to 5 on top of actual carb content dose with lunch and dinner. Best wishes.
 


Thanks for the reply. At least you have seen the consultant and had the hand checked, hopefully your bg levels will settle down once the pain & discomfort has eased.
