Poor grammar, bullying and drunks.
Hi folks. Hope you are all having a grand morning. I am just waiting for a carer who is coming to take me to a garden centre today. I never thought I'd get so excited to be leaving the house, I can hardly contain myself.
The longest record for my being housebound is sixteen weeks, in the winter I may get out once every six to eight weeks but in the summer I can go about once a month. It makes a change from hospital/GP appointments.
I have a list of plants I'd like to buy but have enough dosh for lunch, too. Yippeee!

Oh take me with you. I love garden centres (not that my garden proves that hee hee)

I'm not housebound but due to other health reasons it takes a lot to get me to go out. I'm supposed to go to the local dog centre to pick a new pet but I've explained to hubby that it upsets me seeing all those motherless dogs that I want to take them all home and that it lowers my mood. So I have to wait for a day when I'm feeling a bit more upbeat.

You enjoy your trip out - I hope you have the weather for it

Thanks, lass. I've had a great day out and really pushed the boat out having the biggest, cream filled cake in the cafe. Oh, and I got some plants, too.

I hope you feel strong enough to go to the pet centre very, very soon. I would love another dog but it just wouldn't be fair as I couldn't always excercise even a small dog. I have thought about a rescue greyhound aka couch potato but to be honest my tiny house couldn't accomodate one.

I have a rescue greyhound - He's about 12 now and a silly dog. He's definately a couch potato and gets his exercise in about 10 minutes and the rest in the garden. I wouldnt change him and I have to admit he's very spoilt. And they do take up a lot of room. My lounge is about 16 feet by 13 feet and he takes up a great deal of that room. His favourite trick (and he's doing it right now) is to sit under the computer chair with me in it so I have to do the high jump to get passed him. Oh and they dont eat as much as what you would think in a large dog. He's on 2 meals a day and has not long been increased to biscuits for both meals due to him now losing muscle tone for being an older dog.

As for a smaller dog you can exercise them in the home by games with them. I've had big dogs, I've had small dogs. The only thing when we had the smaller dogs ie Yorkshire Terriers they were escape artists and we would have to go visit the neighbours to get the little darlings back.

As for pet centre - I might go tomorrow. I spoke in some length to hubby last night and I might be getting either a German Shepherd or a Rottweiler puppy instead of an older dog. I just have to work out whether it's feasible.
 
Shepherds are my favourite dogs. So loyal and intelligent and with so much to give. If I was able I would not hesitate to get one. I have always had bigger dogs in the past but never a rotten. Is it true that Rottweilers tend to become a little overweight easily?
I'm sure you will come away from the centre with an armful of joy tomorrow. There is nothing like raising animals to improve your own mental and physical well being.

The cake? A raspberry ripple cake, it was the biggest cake they had and it was delicious. I noticed that they have started doing gluten free desserts, maybe in the future they will do LoCarb. I have to be honest, I didn't even feel guilty, it has been so long since I had a cake. However, I have not tested since :-(
 
I had a cream tea yesterday. Two large scones provided (I brought one back home along with the small jar of jam.) I tested when I got home ......... 9.3 yikes!! I had scrambled egg for tea, and tested two hours later ..... 3.9!!! Had some fruit and tested half an hour later ...3.3!! All very strange. I felt perfectly well, but as it was bed time I had a weetabix. Fasting this morning was 5.0. I have neither been so high or so low for quite some time. Time to be good methinks. I'm going to the zoo tomorrow.
 

I had 2 shepherds back with my ex-husband. Lovely dogs - quick to learn. And yes Rottie's tend to give you the dopey face and you give them half your dinner lol. Had a Rottie too from the pet rescue centre a good few years back before we had the greyhound. The Rottie was scared stiff off the yorkie I had at the time and definately knew his place in the pecking order. That was until it came to the car and I was shoved in the back with the yorkies and hubby and the Rottie sat in the front.

And I probably wont have a dog tomorrow, I'm only going to look and see what's on offer. Then I would have to introduce the greyhound to any dog we may consider so would have to go back.

And yes it would improve my mental wellbeing (I hope). It would make a reason for me to have to go out.

And the cake sounds nice - I've just eaten a small bar of chocolate with crushed hazlenuts through it. Lovely
 
I tried to fast today because I'd been so bad yesterday but I only managed to get to 6pm, then I had to eat to take pain meds. I had berries and Greek yoghurt but haven't eaten since. I may have one slice of toasted Burgen later so I can take more tablets.
Have to get back on that wagon!
