I used the A1CNow kit which is now sold by Bayer. I found it to be reliable and close to lab results, if slightly fiddly to use. It was pulled off the market for about a year due to some concerns but I believe it's now back on the market in Europe.

I have used the same kit as Spiker in the last year. I found it to be very reliable. Compared, on tests done the same day, the results were not an exact match, but from the tests in the kit I bought, they shadowed the lab results with exactly the same differential each time.
