Type 1 Accidentally injected basal last night with a needle that was bent sideways - any side effects to look out for? The insulin still went in.

Hey guys.

I took my basal quite late last night. I usually have it anytime between 9pm and 2am but I was playing Diablo until 3am lol.

I took it and as I pulled the needle out I realized it was bent almost 90 degrees. Somehow the insulin still went in because I had a tiny lump and nothing was wet. Once I massaged it a bit, it went away.

Is this dangerous? I've woken up this afternoon with a low and seen a huge plummet overnight ( 21mmol down to 3.8) but that's not that crazy for me to be honest. I did also have a bit of bolus on board. I do find that regardless of basal dose my sugar levels tend to drop when I'm sleeping and I seem very sensitive to insulin between the hours of 2am and 7am but they remain perfectly stable if I'm sick/not eating. I've had times before where I've hardly eaten for days due to illness and my basal doesn't plummet me, I tend to just hover around 9 - 10mml.

I'm currently experiencing sugars a bit all over the place because I started Invisalign a week ago to help my TMJD disorder and I've been in a LOT of pain, eating way less and sleeping schedule is a bit messed up.

Just wondering if I should be worried about the basal?

I wouldn't be worried about it at all, the insulin went in, and your BG seems to be behaving like you expected.
Thanks! I'm trying to tell myself that but I've never experienced this before and I have major anxiety haha. I think my biggest concern is that the basal will release at a different rate (i.e all at once and kill me, yes I'm this rational )
