Accurate check active

It is not clear what meter you have been offered as a replacement.
I believe all current Accuchek meters are codefree, and do not require a coding chip. It is not clear which meter you are describing in your post. When you say Avila, do you mean Aviva? In that case, the Active should not have been given to you since the Aviva is still currently supported, the Active has been stopped.

There was an older version of the Aviva meter that may have been replaced too, and this may be the one you are describing. It had a silver front. This should not have been offered to you as replacement for the Active. The new Aviva is codefree and uses the new style strips that are end fill, not centre fill.

The lancet device that came wih the Active was the Softclix, which was single lancet as you describe. It was only available with the Active. It has been replaced with the Fastclix which has 6 lancets.

So if you have been given an Active and Softclix recently then yes this is a backwards step, and no longer supported.
