Has anyone been forced to take the accuracy check active meter, the finger prick device and the test strips ? I was told by my surgery that they where stopping production of the accuracy chek Avila and strips. This new meter and the finger prick device are backward steps. Firstly the meter needs to be chipped, the blood sample needs to be place in the middle of the strip rather than the end. Another old practice. The finger device has to be loaded individually each time it is used, which means having to place a small top on the sharp point. Previously the old device had a safe barrel which contained 6 points that could be used with safe disposal. I have kept the old machine . I would appreciate any comments please. Than you Karl
