Advice needed thx

HI I have a question

I am currently on Lyxumia but find that it makes my blood sugars drop to about 4.0 within an hour of injecting which is a bit too low, then after that first hour they can go upto 9 mmols after meals. I am thinking of asking the doctor to come off it as it still makes me feel ill and I have been on it for about 7 months, but I dont know what else he could try??

I have tried gliclazide, repaglinide, metformin, linagliptin and victoza, the only med that worked was Victoza and it levelled out my blood sugar really well, had no low drops etc, however that too started to stop working as well .

Anyway my question is this I seem to get low drops within first hour of any meds and then for the rest of the day it is higher than it should be after meals so.is it worth asking the doctor about insulin or should I see if theres anything else that can level out the big drops i get.

I forgot to also say that i have noticed i am weeing more and starting to feel thirsty more as well. Am off doctors soon soo gonna see what he says.

Hi yes I am eating within an hour of injecting. I have been using 8mm needles which tbh i find quite painful sometimes so have found some 5mm needles which i am going to try as i used to use them with victoza and never had any problems, am wondering could part of the problem be the needles are going in too deep and not going in subcut ??
I have an appt with the DSN on the 5th November, doctor has decided to refer me and it will be good to speak to someone else as i have only ever had my doctors advice on what meds to take.

Quick update i have had a couple of days trying 5mm needles instead of 8mm and bingo, i'm not getting any big drops so far and have far less appetite and more energy. Also spoke to one of the nurses i work with who thinks maybe the Lyxumia was getting absorped too fast with the longer needles and said the longer size is prob down to cost !!!!
