Sometimes when bg levels go mega high with keytones as well, feeling sick and being sick can happen. If this was me, I think I would be getting a bit worried if bg wasn't starting to lower ok and would try a higher correction dose to see if that worked. Are yr pens working ok and have you used fresh cartridges just in case? If you can't get bg to lower, then get to hospital A & E and get checked out incase of virus or something
I reckon that's the answer. Glad they are coming down - maybe set an alarm to check you don't drop too low overnight. Hope you don't feel too washed out tomorrow.
Glad bg is starting to drop.....Keep drinking a glass of water every hr for the next few hrs so that urine is ok and not dark yellow. You live and learn with D.....its possible for insulin to weaken in strength due to being close to a radiator so remember that in future. I'm hoping that you dont need to work tomorrow.....might be best to stay at home until Weds
How did you test for ketones? Urine test?I woke in the middle of the night with a hypo - woke this morning my blood was 9.
I felt a bit blurghhh on waking, but didn't really think anything of it as I often feel like that the morning after a night hypo.
My bg then started to raise as the day went on. It's hit 26 now.
Whilst I was out I had the most weird feeling. And it almost cause me to black out. To the point I had to get a seat fetched for me and water. My bg at this point was 12.1
After sitting down I felt less faint.
On my way home my legs felt really wobbly and I just don't feel right. I keep going dizzy. I feel. Blurghhh and just tested for ketones and there's a trace (nothing major)
So what I'm asking (after going around the houses) is could a trace of ketones make you feel that ill?
