Hi, I have been type 1 for only a month now, the last 4 days an hour after food my sugars have dropped to 1.4/1.8. I've reduced the amount of insulin but still dropping so soon after eating, I've been eating the same every day so it's not that and haven't exercised. What's going on?

Hello. I would recommend, quite strongly, that you contact your diabetic nurse with readings like that. Do you feel like you are having a hypo at those times? If not I would recommend it even more!

Yes I am feeling the hypo, don't understand really. I have lowered my insulin so see what happens today. Thankyou

Mags until you were diagnosed, your body was in a permanent crisis. What is probably happening is that now you are getting insulin therapy and your body is getting back to (relative) normal, your sensitivity to insulin is improving, and your own insulin is starting to get produced again in small amounts. This is called the "honeymoon" period. You will need to work with your diabetes nurse to reduce your insulin doses. If you feel bad, eat some carbs (not too much, maybe 20g of carbs). But only as an emergency measure, not as a habit.
