Hi guys!

Looking for some advice, I have been T1 diabetic for almost a year now and have just returned from a trip to London.
We did loads and loads of walking and I wore what I thought were well fitting and comfy trainers. I have a hard uncomfortable area on my pinky toe, which sounds like a callus from Dr google and when I googled, it said I should see podiatrist if diabetic (which most things say!!). I just wondered is there is anything I can do to help it, or since I'm home and not walking as much will it get better on it's own?

Many thanks in advance! X

I would definitely see a podiatrist - feet are not something that diabetics should attempt to self-treat. Dr Bernstein says that most of the ulcers and foot problems he's seen in patients have been caused by badly executed home attempts to remove hard skin

Maybe try and pop into your diabetic clinic and get to see a diabetic specialising podiatrist.

What may seem to be a small problem can soon escalate. Treat it now and "Keep your Feet"

Regards

Martin

I'd agree, with checking with a podiatrist, the ones I have seen have been friendly and very helpful
