Can anyone tell me why I would have glucose and ketones in my urine? My fasting blood test has come back hbc1 37 apparantly antibiotics I'm permanently taken can cause blood sugar problems. My Dr says I don't need a glucose tolerance test but as all my family diabetic should I ask for one? This is 3rd time I've had glucose and ketones it comes up when i do a urine test at the hospital for Cuti I'm suffering with.

Are you using a glucose meter to check your levels at home? You were thinking about that a year ago: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/advice.163243/
There are some conditions and medications that can give you a false low hba1c, like aneamia or sulfasalazine. A meter may show you what your daily blood sugar levels are like.

Wish you all the best!

Depending on how long you were fasting for ketones may be related to that, depending on levels.

Thankyou I think it maybe a good idea to get a meter like you say to see whats happening. My Dr thinks it's the antibiotics or infection I can't get rid of causing it.
