I wonder if the current in thing of doing aerobic exercise on an empty stomach in order to burn more fat is dangerous for a type 2 diabetic as in theory this will cause a hypo?
I am only looking to exercise to lose weight not train for road races

I would appreciate any advice on this matter.

My BG goes up temporarily if I exercise hard ? I know that is similar for several people on here but others are different. I nibble at a few nuts when I exercise now and that keeps me level.
Have you got a meter ? My best advice is to test your BG levels, before, during and after exercise. If you start to feel odd have something like a carton of orange juice handy if you see you have gone low.
Happy exercising

Are you on any medication for your diabetes?

To be honest, there are a huge number of factor that could impact in how you feel when exercising. Do you have a meter and test yourself? If so, what sort of numbers are you seeing, day-to-day? Do you exercise already, and if you do, how do you feel? Conversely, if you're not taking any exercise already, what sort of intensity do you intend to do? A stroll for a couple of miles can be quite different to an aerobics or zumba class, for some folks.
