Just curious as to why agave nectar/syrup is in so many of the diabetic friendly recipes on this website, when we’re not really supposed to have it because it’s high in sugars ? Is there an alternative ?

Agave nectar has high fructose content. While this means that it will have a limited immediate impact on your blood glucose, fructose consumption has been linked to long-term issues like fatty liver / insulin resistance, so it should really be avoided despite limited impact on BG. I try to avoid any sweeteners and prefer erythrol if I absolutely need some.
