I`m always tired, too tired to eat proper at set times, too tired to test, too tired to give insulin
It`s like a vicious circle and it won`t stop. Docs don`t do anything, what can they do? I am so fed up, just can`t cope any more. Also, sets hurt when I put them in, hurt when I give insulin. I'm bruised and sore all over.
Hi candi,
Bless you! i've been in this same position not long ago..
But i think if your posting on here then you must want something to change?!
I see that your on an insulin pump as your reffering to an infusion set.. have you thought about maybe going back to MDI? or trying a different set? smaller needle maybe?
It's a catch 22 i know..
i hated injections and i was as thin as a rake so that didnt help with them as i had very little fat to get stuck into!!
I know some people on pumps have insulin pens and needles as back up's if the pump fails so maybe if you have some long acting insulin spare you could at least have some to boost you up to improve you feeling tired and therefore less motivated to test your BG's etc.
You can't go on feeling like this as the less insulin you have the worse you'll feel and the more you downward spiral the harder it is to get back on your feet!
I know you day doctors can't do anything, and i felt the same way, then i met one nurse who is my nurse now who is an angel and knew i wasn't really doing anything to control my diabetes but just talked to me and encouraged me, but never once tried to make me do anything i felt i couldn't or wasn't ready for.
Do you have something to test for ketones? i strongly suggest you should, and if they re present then you need to get that sorted asap.
Try and make an appointment as quick as possible to talk all this through with someone in a specialist diabetes field to discuss all this with, you may find one small change could help alot.
Please test your BG's and have some insulin to get to a normal level before bed then you can wake up tomorrow maybe feeling a bit better candi.
