Hey guys,

Ok so to cut a long story short, a while ago (about a month or two) I had this weird lump in my right index finger. I went for my diabetes clinic appointment, but had to see another consultant as mine had an emergency elsewhere.
When I told him about it he didn't seem concerned in any way.

Fast forward to now & my ever so kind & understanding employer has cut off all source of heat to my office & taken my small heater away - despite my protests on how cold the room is (there's actually nothing now, just four walls - no radiators/air con units!).
Anyway, since then my finger seems to be getting worse & my brain is going into paranoid overdrive thinking "OMG is it affecting my circulation to the point my finger is going to drop off!" (I'm very paranoid about my extremities as I imagine lots of diabetics are!). Anyway, the lump has gone - it just feels like a ridge type shape, and I have this slight discolouration on the pad like a red, blotching effect, and it's quite painful.

Am I right to be paranoid? Should I get my GP to check it out? Or am I possibly worrying over nothing? (I am aware you can't give medical advice)

Also, what do you guys think about the heater situation?!

If I remember from my trade union days, a workplace has to be 62 degrees within an hour of starting work. Frantically trying to remember the act. If you don't have a thermometer, get a cheap one & check temp, then tell your employer (or don't, just let him have a surprise) that you are going to get in touch with your local H&S office. Thank you The problem is that quite honestly, they don't appear to care too much! It's a bit unfair too, given myself & the girl who shares my office, we're the only ones who've had their heating taken away - everyone else in the building has a heater! I've broached the subject with the management but have received a less than helpful response! I have to sit at my desk with a blanket wrapped around me!

I actually bought a garden thermometer because I was so upset with the situation - when I came in this morning it was 14 degrees. It's now 17 degrees celcius. And I am freezing. I'm a naturally cold blooded person, so like my temperatures up more than most - but I still feel this is highly unfair!

Hi, I had a similar problem, and feel very sympathetic to you. No one seemed to care and it was never resolved.
